The DIG 2016 Election will take place online during the month of August. Voting results will be announced at the DIG Social Gathering on Thursday, August 25. This year's ballot will contain several board positions and a bylaws amendment proposal.
This year, the following positions are up for election:
* New titles are pending approval from DIG general members on the proposed bylaws amendment.
The term of office for all positions is two years and begins in August 2016.

Bylaws Amendment Proposal
On September 19, 2015, the board approved the following two bylaws amendments.
The rationale for this change is to update the positions to accurately reflect current job positions and to draw more interest among members in running for these positions. Having a business manager or a communication manager on an individual’s resume could potentially entice a prospective employers and make an individual more marketable. The skills and experience learned from these positions would be transferable to the government and beyond. The position of Recording Secretary has not changed, but we may do so in the future.
General Member Motions
As general member, you have an opportunity to make any motions for the general members to vote upon and for the board to take action. These motions are a way to help shape the organization’s priorities and activities.
You are given until July 20, 2016 to submit your proposal motions for voting. Once received, the board may choose to comment on the motions as a part of the discussion. Any motion to amend the bylaws should be discussed with the Bylaws chair to be considered at a future general meeting.
